Phaselis Bay
Turkish name: Phaselis Koyu
Attention, please! The passionate, intense north winds of history may blow with a gentle charm on your face! This is the last port of the city Lycia for which wars were fought; this is PHASELIS!
Swimming
Perfect place for families with children and non-swimmers to enjoy the salty clear water, sandy beaches with minimal waves and shallow waters.
Clear and shallow water, with little waves and sandy beaches, it is known as some of the best places to swim in this area, especially for families and children. Children can go in easily and play in the water with comfort due to the shallow waters that take a while to get deeper. Children can even build sand castles thanks to the sandy beach. Swimming here is also perfect for non-swimmers since the water is salty and will help your body and all your stresses to float in beautiful nature surrounded by pine trees.

History
Century-old history lies in the depths of Phaselis, waiting for you to go back in time and relive history. Phaselis’s chief goddess of war—Athena, protects the people of this land with passion; she watches over the people and the seas. Athena was known as a rational, intelligent, and powerful defender.
This powerful goddess dominated the Mediterranean port cities and all its colonies; she is a true fighter driven by a passion for her people and anger against anyone that harms them. She was highly respected even by her enemies; her anger could be felt even from the depths of the sea. The sailors put flowers, honeycombs, incense and various spices in clay cups and threw them into Phaselis Bay to show their gratitude. The great desire for Phaselis never withered; it persisted. The rich history of Phaselis extended after Athena to civilizations including Hellenes, Persians, Romans, and even Byzantium made history many times.
